At The Prince of Wales we’re known for our real ale. Our pub is equipped with ten traditional hand pumps; we offer a selection of five regular real ales on everyday, and a rotating variety of guest real ales each week.
But don’t worry if real ale isn’t your preferred drink of choice – we have something for everyone. Our extensive drinks menu includes a great selection of wines from the local Tanners Wines, as well as a variety of trendy gins.
We don’t expect you to simply take our word for it – we’ve earned our reputation through our consistent dedication to quality. In fact, we’re honored to have been featured in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide for over 15 years and to have received numerous awards along the way.
At The Prince of Wales, we proudly host two real ale festivals each year, proudly supported by Shrewsbury & West Shropshire CAMRA.
Our Winter Real Ale Festival takes place in February, and our Spring & Summer Real Ale Festival is held in May. During our festivals the pub is transformed with an additional festival bar, providing plenty of space for even more great beer.
We strongly believe in supporting local businesses and keeping things close to home. That’s why we source the majority of our regular and guest real ales from local breweries, representing the best of Shrewsbury and Shropshire through the exceptional beers we serve.
Our main supplier is the award-winning Tanners Wines of Shrewsbury , which is conveniently located just a short walk away from our pub and is certainly worth a visit. Additionally, our wine selection is carefully curated in partnership with Tanners Wines, ensuring that every glass we serve is of the highest quality.
